Event Summary

We had amazing Pune Power Platform Bootcamp on January 15th, 2020 with 135+ attendees, Expert speaker line up and great event sponsors. We started planning the event for 40 people but by looking at the amazing response to RSVP since beginning with over 100 registrations in a week. As a result, we moved the event to a bigger space (MCCIA Trade Tower, S B Road).
The schedule and speakers were divided into two tracks. The Welcome Note, Keynote, Sessions, and Closing Note were open to all, and the sessions were divided into two separate tracks, each imparting knowledge on various Power Platform topics.
We took care of all the necessities: Tea break, Lunch, Banners, Stickers, Pens, Goodies (including Mugs and Water Bottles) etc.

The Event Day:

The event started at 9:30 AM sharp with registration. The attendees kept gathering at the venue on time for collecting their entry pass and enjoyed networking with each other.

The official event started with warm welcome remarks from Siddharth Vaghasia, who did welcome all attendees, speakers and expressed gratitude to the global and local sponsors. He introduced the audience with the Global Power Platform .

Suyog Patki (Rapid Circle) motivated the audience with his Keynotes demonstrating the capabilities of Power Platform and explained how best it can be used in a daily routine to make our life easier. His main focus on making aware every citizen developer with low code, no code. This certainly convinced the audience power of the Power Platform.

Now, it was time for a tea break and divide the sessions in 2 tracks.

The Track 1 started by Thabor Walbeek (Data Fanatic at Rapid Circle) and Pooja Shriwastav (BI Consultant at Rapid Circle) on “Power Query, DAX and data modelling” for Developer and IT Pros explaining Power BI and Power query best practices with the presentation of difference between M query and DAX, and ideal ways for data modeling.

The Track 2 was started by Anshu Kumari (The youngest speaker of the event, 12 Years Old) on “Utilizing Power Apps with Office 365 for School and MSME business”. She impressed audiences with a live development and demo of the Sanskrit dictionary from Power Apps with SharePoint list and excel. She also talked about how Power Apps can optimize cost and speed of collaboration and utility development for industries under Medium, Small, and Micro Enterprises (MSME). Anshu traveled all the way from Noida to share her knowledge.

The next session at Track 1 was started by Clavin Fernandes (Muhimbi Support Manager) and Yash Kamdar (Muhimbi Consultant) on “Exchange complex data between Power Apps and Power Automate using JSON Functions”. They enabled audiences to leverage the power of JSON Functions and exchange complex data from Power Apps to Power Automate. We will pass data from the camera control (photo), Pen Input(ink control), export an entire Power Apps gallery to Power Automate enrich it with HTML and convert it to PDF. They deep dive into the topics of Create a Power Apps form with complex controls, Understanding JSON Functions, PDF Convert, Merge and Watermark files using Power Apps and Power Automate.

At the same time, Track 2 was started by Aakash Maurya (Sr. SharePoint Developer at Treta Infotech Pvt. Ltd.) on “Use Power BI Q&A to explore your data and create visuals”. He demonstrated how we can use Power BI’s Q&A capabilities to generate the report visuals. Use this feature of Power BI to generate a new visual report and save it to the canvas without writing code or complex query. Aakash traveled all the way from Surat (Gujarat) to share his knowledge.

By the time the sessions ended, the delicious meal was ready for all the guests. The event reached a halt and everyone enjoyed the authentic traditional Maharashtra style lunch.

After lunch, the first session in Track 1 was taken by Abhishek Mishra (Technical Architect) on “Analyse Customer Feedback Tweets using Power Automate”. He explained how Customers provide feedback for the products and services they use on Social Platform. The product owners and service providers analyze this feedbacks, classify them as positive feedback or negative feedback and then take necessary action. This entire process can be easily automated using Power Automate without writing a single line of code. This session will demonstrate how to grab the Twitter tweets, analyze the tweet sentiment whether positive or negative and log the tweet for further action using Power Automate.

In Track 2, Smita Nachan (Lead Software Engineer, Tieto) and Nanddeep Nachan (O365 Consultant) delivered a session on “Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps: Connecting to data using the on-premises data gateway”. They demonstrated how the hybrid data landscapes are common for enterprise customers and how on-premises data gateway enables connecting to data sources “behind a firewall” from online services (like Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate) without the need to move your data to the cloud. They covered in-depth on gateway architecture, configurations, and new management features.

Now, it was time for a tea break and networking.

After the break, Track 1 was started by Ankit Girgas and Vishal Gurav (Cloud Consultants at Rapid Circle) on “Power Apps ALM”. They deep dive into Application Lifecycle Management for Power Apps.
Track 2 was held by Keval Solanki and Sabadra Prasham (Software Architects at Tieto) on “Power of AI in Power Platform”. They unfolded the mystery of AI with Power Platform.

After a short networking break, everyone was excited to end the event on higher notes. The Closing notes were delivered by Nanddeep Nachan and Keval Solanki by thanking the attendees, Speakers, and Sponsors to make this event a huge success.

The feedback from attendees was overwhelming and we are already excited to host this global event next year.
